A Prayer for Freedom

“Write,” You ask, and write I did,
I am still at Your disposal.
A flickering light, and eternal flame,
A synagogue of sorrow.
Save us now, it’s time my G-d,
Bring them out, enough!
You said this will is Your will now,
Yet they are still in chains.
Abused, mistreated, broken more,
Why do You not just bring them?
G-d, You promised me an open door,
Yet their chains are not broken.
It’s time, dear G-d, I did Your bidding,
One more chapter to upload,
And when I do, You must give in,
Bring them all back home.
It’s time, my G-d, You know it is.
I will not let this go on--
This insanity, we’re living in--
You said You will stop it.
So stop it, G-d, I know You can;
Through miracles or people;
It’s all the same, it’s all for One,
Bring them out of darkness.
Free the stolen, free the abused,
Free their own victims--
Rid us of all this hate,
Cleanse Your world for Your sake!
So, G-d, my dear, my dealing Wind,
This one more step I will take--
But I ask then in its wake, this hell You will break.
