Stepping in Air

And once I was meditating,
Laying down on the rock,
I was silent and still-
Stillness in the sun.
The flies were buzzing,
A distant song of Purim through waves of thin air-
Carried to my ears, from a mountain far away.
Once I was meditating,
Laying down for so long,
That the ravens above me started circling my calm.
Their flap of wings is not silent at all,
Each movement a step in the air up above,
Then a pidgin or a dove, also passed by -
Stepping in air, not flying at all.
They swim with effort,
With ease they can dive.
They walk in G-d, daring to step on high.
How miraculous it is, that You hold them like this.
For me, You are a rock,
For them You are the sky,
For no matter where we step-
You are our matter, our energy, our power;
It is You who sustains our every single breath.
