A desire so deep,
To be felt, to be seen,
An illusion of aloneness,
A union of dreams.
You are my helper,
By Your side I will sing,
Behaalotecha* don't neglect me,
don't forget I am here.
So near, You're inside me,
Yet so far from my flesh,
A dance of a union,
A movement of grace.
Fill me with Your laughter,
Wash over me with Your smile,
Flood my awareness,
Deliver me into my life.
No longer enslaved; You guide me through pain,
No longer ignored; You request to hear my aim,
No longer abandoned; You walk with my every step,
No longer so broken; You have given me faith.
I thank Your presence,
Thank You for making me me,
Thank You for the darkness -
that lifts me above my crazy dreams.
May Your humble servant be true to Your path,
May all that I offer be aligned with Your light,
May every word I say break the pain, carry sparks away,
May the fire You ignited stay the flame of my heart.
May this day be for You,
May each hour be true,
May I let Your power flow,
May each word bring me home.
*Behaalotecha: (בְּהַעֲלֹתְךָ) - when you step up (specifically referring to stepping up to light up the candles of the Temple's Menorah).
