By Ashrei (Ima Sari Wisenthal)

An echo of Your silent voice,
Unravelling thunder in stillness,
I feel Your sounds, I hear Your visions.
*,אַשְׁרֵי, אָדָם בֹּטֵחַ בָּךְ. (Ashrei, Adam placed his trust in You)
So be the Eve to this man's hidden dreams. Open up like never before;
Correct all of your wrongdoings, cleanse your soul.
A repentance, a return, a coming back to Your arms;
It's done in stages, even if You've shown me my prize,
Even though You've walked me through my ruins.
The endless expanse, not limited by my body,
Contains the place of Your Voice -
That space that consoles me.
Melt my fears away, leave awe and forgiveness instead,
Lead me with acceptance, not of them,
You speak through me for Your sake, in Your name.
What once held sorrow of all the worlds I lived in,
Has come clean, has uplifted, has elevated my being;
While my soul stands still, steady on my feet.
Your echo is spreading, I feel Your voice all around -
So deep; in a garden I tried finding,
A palace where illusions enter only to be ripped apart.
Trust, faith, passion and love - a mixture so calm;
A contradiction so intoxicating, guide me with it through all of time,
And oh, how I will praise You, blindly I will follow Your plans.
*אַשְׁרֵי, אָדָם בֹּטֵחַ בָּךְ
(תהילים, פ״ד:יג)
The translation for this poem: Ashrei, Adam placed his trust in You
Common translation: happy is the man who trusts in You (Psalms 84:13, JPS, 1985)
